Today's Odds — Canada
Across a sample of thousands of priced markets, three operators consistently return the sharpest lines to Canadian bettors: Pinnacle (3.12% average margin), FanDuel (4.06%) and DraftKings (4.21%). On raw price, that trio undercuts the field by a wide gap — the next cluster (BetMGM, Caesars) sits near 4.7–5.3%, while recreational-leaning books run 6% or higher. This hub ranks licensed sportsbooks in Canada by the numbers that decide your long-run returns: how often each book posts the best available price, its typical overround, and its market depth. Note upfront that Canada is regulated province by province — the figures below reflect operators registered with iGaming Ontario, and availability differs elsewhere.

Full ranking →Best-Price Share: Who Posts the Sharpest Line Most Often
Best-price share measures how frequently a book holds the top available odds on a sampled market. It is the single most direct signal of where value concentrates.
On our samples, two books dominate: DraftKings holds the best price on 54.5% of 898 sampled markets, and Pinnacle on 53.4% of 221. Because a market can be tied at the top, these overlap — but the pattern is clear: if you shop across only two accounts, DraftKings and Pinnacle capture the large majority of top prices seen in Canada.
Caesars is the next most competitive at 36.7% best-price share across 784 markets, followed by FanDuel at 23.5%. Below that, the mid-tier posts occasional top prices: BetRivers 18.9%, BetMGM 14.6%, Betway 12.0%, 888sport 9.2%, Unibet 8.5%. LeoVegas trails at 6.0%.
- Sharpest overall: DraftKings, Pinnacle
- Strong secondary: Caesars, FanDuel
- Occasional value: BetRivers, BetMGM, Betway, 888sport, Unibet
Average Margin: The Overround You Pay on Every Bet
Average margin (the bookmaker's built-in overround) is what you pay on a fairly priced market regardless of who wins. Lower is better.
Ranked from tightest, by our sampled markets:
- Pinnacle — 3.12%
- FanDuel — 4.06%
- DraftKings — 4.21%
- BetMGM — 4.69%
- Caesars — 5.35%
- Unibet — 5.74%
- Betway — 6.09%
- BetRivers — 6.28%
- 888sport — 6.63%
- LeoVegas — 6.86%
The spread matters: Pinnacle's 3.12% versus 888sport's 6.63% is more than double the cost of entry per market. Over a season of volume, that gap compounds. Pinnacle's low margin explains its 9.4 odds rating — the highest in this list — despite thinner feature coverage (betBuilder scored 6.0, no Bet Builder listed among its features). It is a pricing engine, not a lifestyle app.
How BETAXIO Ranks Operators
Our operator ratings weight measurable pricing and market factors first, product depth second.
By odds rating, Pinnacle (9.4) and bet365 (8.8) lead, with Betano (8.2) and DraftKings/FanDuel (7.9/7.8) close behind. But odds rating and market breadth diverge. bet365 tops market coverage (9.6), sports depth (9.5) and live capability (9.4) — the most complete product on offer — even though its measured margin isn't the tightest in the field.
The practical read: for pure price, weight Pinnacle, DraftKings and FanDuel. For a single all-round account with the widest market menu and live streaming, bet365 (features 9.2, app 9.3) and DraftKings (app 9.2, features 9.0) score highest. A sharp Canadian bettor typically runs a low-margin book alongside a deep-market book to combine price and coverage.

View all →Market Depth: Coverage Across Canadian Sports
Depth ratings track how many markets and competitions each book prices. bet365 (market coverage 9.6) and DraftKings (9.0) lead, with FanDuel (8.9) and BetMGM (8.7) next.
For the leagues Canadian bettors follow most — NHL and NBA daily, NFL and MLB seasonally, plus UFC/MMA cards — the North American books (DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, Caesars) build heavily around Same Game Parlay markets on those competitions. bet365, Betano, Unibet, 888sport and bwin add stronger football coverage across Champions League, Europa League, Serie A, Ligue 1 and the World Cup, plus ATP and WTA tennis.
- Ice Hockey / NHL: broadest across the North American operators — see Ice Hockey betting sites
- Basketball / NBA & EuroLeague: DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM lead on SGP depth
- American Football / NFL: Same Game Parlay coverage strongest on DraftKings, FanDuel, Caesars
- Football (soccer): bet365, Betano, Unibet, bwin for continental depth
- MMA / UFC: widely priced; Betano and bet365 rate well on live capability
Payments, Withdrawals and Apps
Every listed operator supports Interac and Visa, carries a $10 minimum deposit, and reports withdrawal windows of 0–24h. Payment breadth is where a few differentiate:
- bet365 supports Interac, Visa, Mastercard and Apple Pay — the widest listed set
- Betway, Unibet, theScore Bet and LeoVegas add Apple Pay
- Sports Interaction supports InstaDebit alongside Interac and Visa
On apps, all listed books offer iOS and Android. Highest app ratings go to bet365 and FanDuel (9.3), then DraftKings (9.2), with theScore Bet (8.8), Betano (8.8) and BetMGM (8.8) close behind. DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, Caesars, BetRivers and theScore Bet list Same Game Parlay; bet365, Betway, Unibet, 888sport, Betano and bwin list Bet Builder. Live streaming is listed by bet365, Unibet, DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM and bwin.

Is Online Betting Legal in Canada?
Legality depends on your province. There is no single Canada-wide betting licence. In Ontario, online sportsbooks operate under registration with the AGCO and iGaming Ontario — that framework applies to Ontario specifically, not the rest of the country.
Every operator on this page is licensed by iGaming Ontario. Outside Ontario, other provinces run their own regimes, typically through provincial lottery corporations and regulators, so which books you can legally use — and their legal status — varies by province. Alberta and British Columbia, for example, operate under their own arrangements.
The legal minimum age is 19 in the provinces covered here. Before signing up, confirm what applies where you live; see our legal betting sites Canada page for the province-by-province picture.
How to Choose a Sportsbook in Canada
Match the book to the metric that matters for your betting.
- Chasing value on single bets: prioritise low margin and high best-price share — Pinnacle, DraftKings, FanDuel. Line-shop across two of them.
- Want the deepest market menu plus live streaming: bet365 (coverage 9.6) or DraftKings (9.0).
- Building Same Game Parlays on NHL/NBA/NFL: DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM and Caesars list SGP and rate well on features.
- Want Bet Builder on football: bet365, Betano, Unibet or bwin.
- Fast withdrawals matter: BetRivers holds the highest withdrawals rating (8.6) alongside its Fast Payout listing.
Running two accounts — one tight-margin book for price, one deep book for coverage — captures both the best available odds and the widest market set. Compare full profiles via all bookmakers or the comparisons hub.
