Live Betting Betting Sites in the United States
For in-play betting, bet365 leads our live-capability rating at 9.4/10, ahead of FanDuel (8.9), DraftKings (8.8) and BetMGM (8.5). Every operator on this page carries a Live Betting feature and is licensed by state gaming regulators (NJ DGE, NYSGC, PGCB, MGCB and others). Live markets move fast, so two numbers matter most when you pick a book: how deep the in-play menu runs, and how much the price gives back. Below we rank the nine sportsbooks on live capability, then cross-check that against the odds data we sample.

Why Live Betting is a different ranking
9 licensed United States operators match Live Betting. The parent page ranks the whole market; this one only keeps books that clear both filters.
On sampled core prices, DraftKings holds the best available line 66% of the time. Average margin across this Live Betting cut is 4.7% — a different number from the unfiltered country ranking.

Live betting sportsbooks ranked by in-play capability
Our live-capability rating measures the breadth and responsiveness of the in-play offer — number of live markets, secondary lines during play, and whether live streaming and cash out are attached. The order:
- bet365 — 9.4. Highest live-capability score in the sample, plus Live Streaming and Cash Out on the feature list.
- FanDuel — 8.9. Strong in-play menu with Same Game Parlay, Cash Out and Live Streaming.
- DraftKings — 8.8. Same feature set as FanDuel; leads the odds sample (see below).
- BetMGM — 8.5. Live Betting, Same Game Parlay, Cash Out and Live Streaming.
- Caesars Sportsbook — 8.3. Live Betting, Same Game Parlay and Cash Out.
- BetRivers — 8.2. Live Betting and Same Game Parlay; no Cash Out on its feature list.
- ESPN BET — 8.0. Live Betting, Same Game Parlay and Cash Out.
- Fanatics Sportsbook — 8.0. Live Betting, Same Game Parlay and Fast Payout.
- Hard Rock Bet — 7.9. Live Betting, Same Game Parlay and Fast Payout.
bet365, FanDuel, DraftKings and BetMGM are the four books here that list Live Streaming, which matters if you want to follow the action you're pricing rather than tracking a scoreboard.
Where the best in-play prices are, by the numbers
Live-capability tells you how much you can bet; margin and best-price share tell you what the price is worth. From our sampled markets:
- DraftKings — best-price share 54.0%, average margin 4.25% (1,068 markets sampled). It posted the most competitive price on more than half the markets we checked — the strongest of any book here.
- Fanatics Sportsbook — best-price share 41.8%, average margin 4.25% (466 sampled). Second-best on price share and tied for the lowest margin.
- FanDuel — best-price share 36.1%, average margin 4.46% (596 sampled).
- Caesars Sportsbook — best-price share 36.2%, average margin 5.27% (906 sampled). Comparable price share to FanDuel but a wider margin.
- BetRivers — best-price share 28.3%, average margin 6.35% (480 sampled). Widest margin in the sample.
- BetMGM — best-price share 19.9%, average margin 5.21% (438 sampled). Lowest best-price share here.
bet365, ESPN BET and Hard Rock Bet do not have odds samples in this dataset, so we rank them on live capability and features only.
The takeaway for in-play: DraftKings combines a top-three live-capability score (8.8) with the best price data, which is an unusual pairing. Fanatics is the value outlier — a mid-pack live-capability score (8.0) but a margin tied for the lowest sampled.
Live capability vs price: how to read the two together
The book with the deepest live menu is not automatically the book with the best price, and this sample shows the gap clearly.
bet365 tops live capability (9.4) but carries no odds sample here, so treat its price as unrated rather than proven. DraftKings sits slightly lower on capability (8.8) but is the only operator in the sample to win best price on the majority of markets. If your priority is breadth of in-play markets and streaming, the top of the capability list applies; if your priority is the return on each live bet, the odds table applies.
A practical split many US bettors use: hold accounts at two or three of these books and price-check the specific live market before staking. Best-price share of 54% means DraftKings still loses the price on roughly 46% of markets — the marginal edge often sits elsewhere.
Cash out, streaming and same game parlay in-play
Three features change how you use a live market:
- Cash Out — listed by bet365, DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, Caesars Sportsbook and ESPN BET. It lets you settle a live position early. BetRivers, Fanatics and Hard Rock Bet do not list Cash Out in this dataset.
- Live Streaming — listed by bet365, DraftKings, FanDuel and BetMGM only.
- Same Game Parlay — listed by every operator here except bet365, which lists Bet Builder instead. SGPs are heavily used in live NBA, NFL and MLB windows.
If you want cash out and streaming on the same platform, bet365, DraftKings, FanDuel and BetMGM are the four that list both.
Live betting by sport in the US
In-play volume in the US concentrates on the major leagues, and the books here price all of them live. American Football (NFL, NCAAF) and Basketball (NBA, NCAAB) drive the heaviest live turnover, with Baseball (MLB) and Ice Hockey (NHL) adding long in-play windows across the season. UFC / MMA runs live round and fight props, while Tennis (ATP, WTA) offers point-by-point markets and football (MLS, Champions League, Serie A) covers the soccer audience.
Market depth in play scales with our sports-depth ratings: bet365 (9.5) and DraftKings (8.9) lead, which is where you'll typically find the widest secondary live markets during a game. For sport-specific shortlists, use the linked pages below.
Licensing and legal status by state
US sports betting is regulated state by state. Every operator here is licensed, but a licence in New Jersey does not make a book legal in another state — availability, the minimum age (21) and the rules depend on your state regulator.
The books listed operate under state regulators including the NJ DGE, New York State Gaming Commission, Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board and Michigan Gaming Control Board. bet365 is licensed by the NJ DGE and others. Before opening an account, confirm the book is live in your state — a market with the deepest in-play menu is no use if it isn't licensed where you are. All nine carry high licence-safety ratings (8.9–9.5). Minimum deposit across every operator here is $10, with withdrawals quoted at 0–24 hours.
How we rank
Our United States ranking is computed, not negotiated. We sample live odds continuously across every tracked bookmaker and measure three things per operator: how often it holds the best available price, its average margin on core markets, and how many markets it actually prices per event. Those measurements drive the largest share of the score; licence status, payment coverage and payout latency fill in the rest. Commercial deals never move a position. This page re-weights the same checklist for Live Betting: operators that miss the payment method or the sport coverage drop out, and the remaining scores emphasise the intersection — not a copy of the parent ranking.
US sports betting is regulated state by state. An operator licensed in New Jersey is not automatically legal in another state — availability, minimum age and rules depend on your state regulator.
