World Cup Predictions

World Cup predictions are only as good as the price you get on them. Our approach is quantitative: instead of gut-feel picks, we rank US sportsbooks by best-price share and average margin on sampled soccer markets, so you know where a given call actually pays more. Across the operators we track, best-price share on comparable markets ranges from roughly 20% to 54%, and average margins spread from about 4.2% to 6.3% — a gap that directly changes the payout on any World Cup wager. Legal availability depends on your state regulator (minimum age 21).

Where World Cup value concentrates by the numbers

On sampled markets, DraftKings holds the highest best-price share at 54.0% across 1,068 lines, with an average margin of 4.25%. That combination — frequently topping the price and running a tight hold — is why it leads our value ranking for soccer and World Cup markets.

Fanatics Sportsbook ranks next on efficiency: a 41.8% best-price share over 466 sampled lines at a 4.25% margin, the joint-lowest hold in our dataset. FanDuel posts a 36.1% best-price share (596 lines) at 4.46%, and Caesars Sportsbook a 36.2% share (906 lines) but at a wider 5.27% margin.

Lower down, BetRivers shows a 28.3% best-price share at a 6.35% margin — the widest hold we measure — and BetMGM a 19.9% share at 5.21%. For a World Cup futures ticket or an outright winner bet, the margin difference between DraftKings/Fanatics (~4.25%) and BetRivers (~6.35%) is real money on longer prices.

How to read these numbers for World Cup bets

Best-price share answers one question: how often does this book post the top available number on a market? A high share means fewer occasions where you leave value on the table by betting there.

Average margin (the bookmaker hold) is the built-in edge across a market's prices. Lower margin means the odds are closer to fair, which matters most on World Cup outright and group-winner markets where the overround is baked into every selection.

For a genuine prediction workflow, use both: identify the outcome you favor, then price-shop it. On tournament futures a 5-6% margin book can price a favorite noticeably shorter than a 4.25% book. Line up two or three sportsbooks before committing a World Cup ticket.

Market coverage and depth for a global tournament

The World Cup produces a large fixture list across group stage and knockouts, so depth and live capability matter alongside price. bet365 leads our editorial ratings for market coverage (9.6) and sports depth (9.5), with a 9.4 live-betting score — relevant for in-play World Cup soccer, though we hold no sampled odds metrics for it here.

DraftKings (market coverage 9.0) and FanDuel (8.9) back their pricing with broad markets and Same Game Parlay support, useful for building correlated World Cup selections on a single match. Caesars (8.5) and BetMGM (8.7) cover the tournament widely but carry higher measured margins.

All nine tracked operators list Live Betting; DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM and Caesars add live streaming or Same Game Parlay depending on the book. Check each book's soccer offering, since coverage varies market to market.

Legal access by state

US sports betting is regulated state by state. An operator licensed in New Jersey is not automatically legal elsewhere — availability, minimum age and rules depend on your state regulator (NJ DGE, NYSGC, PGCB, MGCB and others). Minimum age is 21.

World Cup markets are widely offered where legal betting is live, including New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Colorado, Ohio, Illinois, Arizona, Virginia and Massachusetts. Confirm the sportsbook holds a licence in your state before placing a wager.

Across our tracked books, deposits start at $10 and withdrawals are quoted at 0–24h. Common methods include PayPal, Venmo, Online Banking, Visa and Play+, though availability differs by operator.
